RIVANNA VALUES WITH A PROGRESS-ORIENTED MINDSET
Jerrod Smith is an Albemarle County, Virginia native dedicated to bettering his community. Jerrod really takes his love for the Rivanna District to heart. He often likes to say he's as "Rivanna As it Gets". He attended Stony Point Elementary School, Sutherland Middle School, and Albemarle High School. Upon graduating Albemarle High School, Jerrod attended Bucknell University in Lewisburg, PA before returning to Albemarle County to receive his Master's in Public Policy from the University of Virginia's Frank Batten School of Leadership and Public Policy.
In 2014, Jerrod was selected as a Mayoral Fellow for the City of Chicago. It was during this time that Jerrod solidified his commitment to becoming an elected representative with a focus on bettering his community. He was able to work on initiatives related to World Business Chicago, the development of schools, and was selected amongst his cohort to present his innovative policy idea to Mayoral Staff.
Jerrod is dedicated to Albemarle County. This area has helped shape him into the man he is today. He aims to serve on the Board of Supervisors so that he can represent the area that has given him so much.
